Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does coaching at The Mental Alchemist involve?
Coaching at The Mental Alchemist is a psychologist-led guidance trajectory focused on personal growth, clarity, and lasting transformation. During the sessions, we explore your patterns, beliefs, and blocks together and work on strategies to help you reach your goals. The process is fully tailored to your individual needs.

2. How long does a coaching session take, and how many sessions will I need?
An individual session typically lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on your goals. Some clients notice significant progress after just a few sessions, while others prefer a longer trajectory or a subscription. During the intake, we discuss your wishes and create a proposal that fits your situation.

3. Is coaching tax-deductible for entrepreneurs?
Yes. Coaching focused on professional or personal development can often be deducted as a business expense for self-employed entrepreneurs. Always consult your accountant or tax advisor for tailored advice.

4. How can I book a session or retreat?
You can book through the “Book Your First Session” button on the website or via the specific booking form for the retreat. Once you submit your details, we’ll contact you to confirm the appointment and discuss any further information. You can also email us at info@thementalalchemist.com.

5. What is the difference between a retreat and coaching?
Coaching consists of individual sessions (online or in person) in which you work on your personal or professional goals. Retreats are multi-day programs held at exclusive locations, combining group exercises, individual guidance, reflection, and relaxation. They offer an immersive and inspiring experience away from daily life.

6. Where do retreats take place and what is included?
Retreats are held at carefully selected locations, such as luxury villas abroad (for example, in Marrakech or Spain). The price usually includes accommodation, meals, transfers, and the full program. The exact location, dates, and rates are listed on the specific retreat page. Flights are typically not included.

7. Who is Camp Ether for? Can men also participate?
Camp Ether is designed exclusively for women who seek rest, luxury, and psychological depth. The program focuses on sharing experiences with other women. For men, other retreats and coaching programs are available. Please contact us for more information.

8. Does The Mental Alchemist also offer care guidance for children and young people?
Yes. In addition to coaching and retreats, The Mental Alchemist provides specialized care for children, adolescents, and adults with conditions such as ASD, AD(H)D, anxiety, mood disorders, and behavioral challenges. This guidance is SKJ- and Kiwa-registered and can often be reimbursed through PGB, WMO, or the Dutch Youth Act.

9. How is confidentiality and privacy handled?
All information you share is treated confidentially. The Mental Alchemist complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data is only used to deliver our services and will never be shared with third parties without your permission, except when required for complaint handling through our SoloPartners membership. For more information, please consult our privacy statement.

10. What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations are free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled session. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows will be charged in full. Specific cancellation policies apply to retreats, which are listed on the registration page and in the general terms and conditions. Contact us if you wish to modify your participation.

11. In which languages are sessions and retreats offered?
Some pages and programs are available in Dutch, others in English. Coaching sessions can be provided in Dutch, English, or Russian. Depending on the location and group, retreats may be held in Dutch, English, Russian, or bilingually. Please contact us to discuss your preference.

12. Is online coaching possible?
Yes. In addition to in-person sessions, we also offer online coaching via video call, making it easy to receive guidance wherever you are.

13. Can you create a tailor-made retreat for a group?
Yes. The Mental Alchemist designs bespoke retreats for groups. Together we define the objectives, group size, and budget, after which we curate a unique program that combines coaching, reflection, team building, and relaxation at an exclusive location. For corporate retreats, costs can often be declared as a business expense. Please consult your financial advisor for details.

14. Can you develop a customized training program for my company?
Absolutely. We offer corporate training programs tailored to the specific needs of your team. After an intake, we determine the themes together — such as leadership, resilience, communication, or stress management — and select the most suitable format: a half-day workshop, multi-day training, or a hybrid program with online modules. These sessions can be held at your location or externally. As they are aimed at professional development, costs are generally tax-deductible as business expenses. Always confirm this with your accountant.

15.How often should I schedule sessions?
The ideal frequency depends on your goals and the intensity of your process. Many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum, then shift to biweekly or monthly sessions as they progress. We’ll determine the most suitable rhythm together during the intake.

16. Is there support between sessions?
While the core work happens during sessions, you may receive reflective exercises, journaling prompts, or practices to integrate between meetings. Some programs include additional support to help deepen the transformation process between sessions.
